Family that does stuff

Over the weekend of March 12-14 the Mogle brothers all gathered together to go with their dad to Yellowstone. He apparently has always wanted to go snowmobiling into Ol' Faithful. So he came up with a scheme to get all the Mogle brothers together for a "road trip". The trip ended up costing about 3 times what he originally said it would cost but overall was a fun time. We gave him hell the whole time about the cost of the trip.

Apparently Yellowstone didn't get a lot of snow this year, thus no snowmobiling into Ol' Faithful. So we took a mini tour bus. This pic shows the snowiest part of the road to Ol' Faithful.


For the most part the roads were like this.


We came in from West Yellowstone, MT and took the 30 mile ride into Ol' Faithful. We left at 8:30 and got to Ol' Faithful about noon. Gives you an idea of how slow we moved. We stopped at scenic stops along the way and whenever we saw wildlife. Here are some pics of the journey:

My brother Matt was really excited to finally be in Yellowstone

My camera died before Ol' Faithful erupted. The weather outside was around 25-30 degrees. The water that comes out of Ol' Faithful is hot. Thus not allowing you to see water, but letting you see a whole lot of steam. Anyone that has peed outside in the winter times knows what I mean.

Matt was very, very excited to see all that steam. Mark was also excited.

This past weekend this Mogle family visited Snow Canyon State Park. March is the perfect time to visit, not too hot and not too cold. We had a good time with few meltdowns. Trips are based on a good or bad rating based on how many "meltdowns" occur. This was a good trip.

Our pasty white bodies got acquainted with the sun for the first time in 2010. The boys had a good time being able to just wander and climb.

Dylan was just excited to be outside.

Connor is trying to run away. He has never experienced so much freedom before.

Dylan did pretty good this trip. We thought we would have to carry him alot, but he wanted no part of us. He walked most of the time by himself. Mr. Independent was glad to be free.

This is where the Mormon Pioneers would write their names on the rock with the axle grease from their wagons. Pretty cool to see.
