Thanksgiving

This year for Thanksgiving we stayed here in St. George and did our own little family thing. With Dylan having a weakened immune system we just didn't feel good surrounding our family with 30 or more people all crammed into one house. Yes, we protective, maybe a little over-protective but a hospital stay is just NOT worth it. That being said, we totally missed being with everyone. I was a little bummed we didn't get to be with all the Mogles but we are just trying our best to keep a two little boys healthy!

No worries. Paul and I definitely ate our fair share of turkey, potatoes, stuffing, and pie! I think we ate all afternoon yesterday and again all day today. Connor would not have anything to do with any of the food except the olives and dinner rolls. Go figure. Dylan had one lick of the cheesecake filling and I couldn't keep his little paws out of it after that.
Here's the proof:

We enjoyed being together and relaxing at home. It was actually kind of nice not having to worry about getting all dressed up to go have dinner with the fam. (Yes mom I stayed in my pink Snow College t-shirt, my jeans with a big hole in the knee and no make-up! And I enjoyed every single second of it!)

After dinner we headed to Wal-mart, yes Wal-mart so we could get our game plan all mapped out for the big Black Friday Extravaganza! This year we decided to get a tv and so I dubbed Paul as "Early Riser" to go get it. He was awake at 2:45 this morning and made it to Wal-mart just after 3 am! He did awesome. He got everything on our "list" and a few extras. I'm thinking maybe he should be our official "Early Riser" from now on! haha just kidding Paul.

Actually I felt really left out when he got home. I LOVE Black Friday. I love to wake up at an insane hour and wait in line for things we "need." I love the rush of it all! And this year I really felt like I missed out. I kind of pouted around all morning because I sent Paul to do the dirty work and there wasn't anything else that I had to go get. I went anyway and of course I found things I had to have, well the boys had to have.

While we spent Thanksgiving without our whole family we still had a wonderful day. It was so fun to just hang out with the boys, watch tv, snooze on the couch, feed our faces without any guilt...ok, maybe a little guilt, and set up our "game plan" for today's shopping. Next year, hopefully, we will be able to be with lots and lots of family through the holidays. Until then, we'll just keep doing what we're doing and try to keep little Dylan healthy!
