morning hike

yesterday was labor day. that means my hubby was home--all day. no work for him. we got him all to ourselves yesterday--except for the few hours he was working on fixing his truck. i knew the day would pass quickly so i rounded everyone up and we headed for the red rocks.
the boys love to hike, plus they think their dad is the coolest guy to hang with. so what better way to spend the morning than "spidey-jumping" on the red rocks.
i love watching my kids explore. connor is getting more and more coordinated and brave. he is able to jump, skip and climb on bigger rocks. and while connor is doing all that big-ger kid stuff, dylan is not quite there. i love that. i was reminded yesterday, that dylan is still 4. he still needs a hand to hold, an arm to reach out to, and a love from momma after a scraped knee. sam likes to think she is big. she was a step behind the boys all morning. she wanted to jump, run, and climb just like them. just like dad.
yesterday was good for my heart. to see my family playing together and enjoying each other was a good reminder of what life is really all about.

Who in the world do you get to take pictures for you on your hike? It's so cool that you have a picture of your whole family on the red rocks. As a sidenote, Eva totally has that butterfly tank that cute little Sammy is wearing. I love your taste! :)
