We all spent a couple hours getting our shopping lists ready for Black Friday. We put the kids in bed and were out the door at about 10:30pm to go wait in line for our goodies. First stop: Wal-mart! My mom stood in line for a Nintendo Wii. I waited in a "safe" line for a bike. Misty, my sister-in-law, came along for the rush of it all and so nice to wait in line for a trampoline for us. Paul got put in line for a Leapster! Those dang Leapsters are regularly about 50 or 60 bucks but they were on sale for $25!!! {a deal too good to pass up!} I knew what I was doing put him in line for that. He's tall, big, fast, and I knew his aggressive side would come out....all for the sake of a toy for his kid!
It's so funny to hear how differently all of our experiences were! My mom had a ticket and just patiently waited for her purchase, no need for anyone to get out of control. Misty said there were a few who tried to raid the line but with a few words to a Wal-mart employee about the "line-butters" they didn't get a trampoline, but Misty was successful! I, being 30 weeks pregnant, just found a safe spot to quickly grab the bike and few other toys and went on my way. Paul is the one with a story. He compares it to what you see on tv. People were hitting the floor, some guy had his hand all smashed up, a pregnant lady got crushed....don't worry, as soon as Paul had the Leapster securely in his hand he helped her get up! His experience was "out of a movie," his words, not mine!!
All in all, Wal-mart treated us well and we got every single thing we went for. We finally got home around 1:30am. Paul went to bed and us girls continued on with our adventure. We were all still on an adrenaline high so we decided to stay up. We hit the outlet malls, Kohl's at 3am, then Old Navy, at 4am we hit Target and it was a mad rush! The store opened at 4am and by 4:04 people were walking out the exit with their purchases done! We rushed in, got what we needed and waited in line for 2 hours! It was so worth it though. We were home and in bed by 6am! Success!
My mom got all the grandkids gifts bought and my kids are done! It took me until Sunday to feel completely rested but I can't wait to do it again next year.

So lucky you got the Leapster. Ephraim only got four so we weren't that lucky. Glad you had fun and were so successful!
