Tent in the backyard and throw-up

Well Saturday night came and I got the bright idea of pitching the tent in the backyard and Connor and I would sleep in it. I knew realistically that we probably wouldn't last the whole night but I was willing to give it a shot. So I made sure the sprinklers were shut off and not going to give us a blast. I put the tent up and Connor was really excited. He thought it was the coolest thing and I was the coolest dad (which I am).

When the tent was up he was very excited. And when we said, "Let's go to bed." He ran outside to the tent.

In my mind I was thinking, "Sweet, this is going to go smoothly." Wow, I underestimated Connor. When he and I went into the tent, he wanted inside. I tried fighting him out there but it was pointless. So we came inside and wrestled getting him to sleep 'til 11. It was a fun night! Here is how it finally came to an end:

Today at church must have been a carry over from last night because he was very fun at church. He made us proud. If you can't tell, that was loaded with sarcasm. Nothing like chasing your kid up and down the aisles in sacrament meeting and then when you grab him, having him scream like you just cut off his arm. It's not embarrassing. And then having a melt down in nursery is always fun. When we got him home he crashed. When he woke up he was whining again. I was losing my patience with him, 'til he threw up. Then I kind of felt bad for getting mad at him. Then he threw up again. Just in case anyone was wondering what the snacks were in nursery, they were raisins! He threw up a total of 5 times in about 2.5 - 3 hrs. Poor kid.

I know he is usually very white, takes after his parents, but he was pale. He is almost transparent. Here's our sick boy:

I feel so bad for them when they get sick...and Iusually do the same thing get all annoyed and then it bites me because he has a reason for being so clingy and whinny.

Poor Kid! I hope he feels better. I've done that too, where I lose patience with my kids because they are ornery, and come to find out they reaaly were just sick, and I didn't realize it!

UUGH...there isn't much more to say. Paul, you are a pretty cool dad. Not every dad is willing to set up the tent in the back yard. Way to go! I hope little Connor is feeling better.

Hi Tara!! This is Janelle, I came across your blog from Melissa's blog that I just found out about. You have got some stinking cute kids, I also don't feel so bad about my little guy, because at 4 months your little guy weighs 2 lbs more than mine. Oh well you have a cute family and I am glad that I found your blog!!
