i took a heavy duty pain.killer about an hour ago.
my feet feel like they are going to explode. for real.
so here is the story.
on the 4th of july i went for a big run. i have a race next weekend in bryce. remember? well on that run, at about mile 8 i thought i had a rock in the back of my shoe. i stopped a few times to get it out it really quick. i noticed a small blister forming but i was still about 3 miles from home so i just ran through it. no biggie. at about mile 9.5 my other foot started to burn up by my toes. i have calloused nasty feet and knew that there was just another blister forming by my callous. again, no biggie. i was almost home so i just kept going. i got home kicked my shoes off and immediately felt the burning pain of two new blisters.
we hung out the whole day at the park with the kids. my feet/legs/back/hips all were achy but that is totally normal for me. especially after a big run. overall i felt pretty good.
the next morning i wanted to freaking die. die, i tell you. my feet hurt so bad. my parents were in town for the day and we shopped/walked a lot that day. i wore flip-flops because the blister on my right foot was oozing all.day.long. i was limping pretty good by the end of the day. i also noticed my left ankle was swollen. {before my mom left town she told me i should go see a doctor....i sort of agreed with her!}
friday morning i woke up and thought i was going to have to cut my feet off. my left ankle looked like i had sprained it. i
after some numbing medicine, rubbing it clean with soap, scraping some of the dead skin, and then CUTTING THE DEAD SKIN OFF MY FREAKING-SWOLLEN-HURTY-OOZING BLISTER. she wrapped my feet up, gave me a shot in the butt and sent me out the door with 3 prescriptions to fill. basically i have blisters and they got infected. just like that. BAM. no running until the skin is completely healed. haha. i can't even walk. in fact as i was hobbling out the door she offered me some crutches. yes it's that bad. no i didn't take any crutches. i have blisters, not a damn broken bone.
so that is where i am at. no running. no bryce 1/2 marathon. heck i can't even walk. i held it together pretty good, even while she was cutting my foot apart, until i got in the car with all my prescriptions. then i lost it. the tears just came and there was no stopping them until i got home and finished telling paul all about it.
so no running for me. screw my asics. those damn shoes will be the death of me.
and now a few pics:
i have to soak, apply cream, and wrap my feet three times a day for the next 3-5 days. oh, and elevate as much as possible. are you jealous? ha!
