guilty

as i was in the bathroom getting ready for church this morning I heard paul say, in a voice much louder than his regular tired-morning-voice:

"hey you little hooligans! what are you boys doin? it's not christmas yet!"

this was followed by two stuttering little voices...
" uh, mom said we could open 'em?"

"no!...tara did you say...?"

and then i knew exactly what had happened.

i opened the bathroom door and there stood two guilty little boys with, what used to be, wrapped gifts from one another.  after talking to them about it like good parents...we made them stand there so we could take a picture--for posterity sake!


and just for the record: the opened gifts are now sitting back under the tree, still unwrapped...staring my boys in the face until christmas morning!
