With the arrival of Samantha our family feels totally, 100% complete. She is such a good baby. The boys love her and that is all I could ask for. Connor is my little helper, getting diapers, wipes, binkis, and blankets whenever I ask him. Dylan loves to kiss her head.
{both boys have nasty little coughs so they don't get to hold her much--but they love to kiss her "tickly hair"}

I was planning on being induced on February 2nd. Sam had other ideas and decided to make her grand appearance a few days earlier. To make a long birth story short--I woke up with contractions at 4am. They were 10 minutes apart and pretty hard--like I had to really concentrate and breathe through them! I told Paul and then we both just laid there until 6am. I got up to sit in a hot bath and Paul jumped in the shower. At 8am my water broke and Paul was ready to get to the hospital. I finished packing my bags and wondered if maybe I should just call the hospital first--you know to see if I should really go in or not?! Paul was "NOT delivering a baby in the car!" so we left. Without a lot of details I was "ready to have a baby" so they let us stay. thank goodness!
{I didn't want to be the mom that came in too early thinking it was time--just to be sent home!}
Everything was easy-breezy--for labor. I got my epidural around 11:30
{I'm totally guessing! All I know is I was in major pain and ready for a little relief!}
My epidural worked great except for a little spot on my left side.
I could totally feel every. single. contraction.
I finally asked the nurse to have the anesthesiologist come in and fix it. She said at that point the best way to get rid of the pain was to "have that baby!" So that's what I did! The doc showed up, the nurses came in and 12 minutes later sweet baby Samantha was here!
It was incredible. She is perfect. She has tons of red, curly hair.
This morning I was laying in bed just staring at her and loving every little detail about her--perfectly placed lips, round little cheeks, that fine hair all over her tiny shoulders and cheeks, her long fingers, the way her eyes blink blink blink as she tries to wake up, her tiny little feet, and the red curly hair I prayed for her to have.
She truly is perfect.
I am so happy she is here.
I feel complete.
My family feels complete.
