One of my hall closets had a shelf dedicated to Dylan's medical stuff. Every Monday, and sometimes days in between, for a whole year I went to the hall closet, found the box overflowing with medical supplies and dug my away around for whatever supplies were needed for the day. All in an effort to help my Dylan. To help him in whatever way I could to fight his brain tumor.
Today he is well. He is a fun-loving, stubborn, feisty, little red head who is living and loving life! We are so blessed to have him with us and pray everyday that he will continue to grow and develop. We pray that his brain tumor will stay at bay. While we realize that he will always have a brain tumor, an Astrocytoma, grade 2, to be exact....we will always pray for miracles that he can live a normal full life.
While Dylan is doing well, we are very aware of the children who have fought their own courageous battles with cancer, and especially those sweet angels who have returned to their homes in heaven. My heart aches for their families, for their parents.
This month, it is my wish that each us will do our part to remember childhood cancer. Whether you donate money or offer up a simple prayer for those children who are fighting cancer, please do something. It means the world to those of us who are or have been fighting the battle with our little loved ones!
and you know this post wouldn't be complete without a picture of my own little super hero:
